Hi there and welcome to my blog. You know, I was thinking of changing the name of this blog but I haven't come up with a good one yet. I was thinking if I should pattern it after my facebook page which is Janet Bernardo Stories or some other name that would have a creative ring to it. Sorry, I'm really bad at giving names. I often go with the simple and uninteresting names just to get on with it. So, there.
Enough introduction. Let me update you to this project I am currently working on. This would still be part of the Heaven Sent project and so far, the first two books are on their way to the printing department (as I was told). Right now, I am wrapping up the story and tying some lose ends on the final book.
Writing the final book was a challenge. I got confused. This is the part where all issues must be resolved along with new conflicts that would arise between the two protagonists. On top of that, they also have to face their own personal problems while they are trying to make their relationship work or move to the next level. Talk about conflict, right? Hah! Easier to plan but difficult to execute.
Well, I am on the part where they would be trekking to a certain falls and somehow, Lee would have to reveal his feelings to Cherry. The latter, on the other hand would admit that she doesn't really have a boyfriend contrary to what Lee believed. Along the way they had encountered difficulties on the trail and there were multiple times that she was tempted to go back and just leave him but every time she would look at how he was trying his best to make her comfortable, she would forget about abandoning him and instead follow his lead until they reached the falls. Their trek somehow opened her mind and heart of the things that mattered most. Like their journey, life is filled with obstacles and difficulties but what matters is whose hand would hold her close and lead her to safety. She believed this was what God was telling her. That this man who gave his heart to God would also be the best person who would lead her heart closer to His will. She saw him in a different perspective that day. Because after all the many times she had tried to be difficult, the kindness in his eyes never left. It seemed that the more she showed the worse part of herself, the more he showered her with kindness. Until she had finally accepted defeat and admitted to him she never really had a boyfriend, that Marx was just her pretend boyfriend.
Her revelation gave Lee some hope. That maybe, in the deepest corner of her heart, he would still find the girl he lost years ago. On Cherry's part, she knew she still loved him. She just kept fighting for her feelings for fear of getting hurt again by the same man twice. But a man who gave his heart to God would no longer be callous right? Perhaps he did really change just as he had claimed. Perhaps, if she trust him with her heart again, he would really take care of it this time.
They had agreed to meet the following week for coffee. She had arrived earlier at their selected meeting place and waited for him, just like an eager child. He had prepared to meet with her when his father suddenly announced that his mother ran away because they had an argument. He wanted to be with Cherry but he felt his parents needed him more. When he tried to call her, she was out of coverage so he decided to send her a text message anyway.
Cherry was mad at him for standing her up. She went to the wrong conclusion that he never really changed after all. That he could still crush her dreams just like that. And her anger and frustration intensified.
The next day, she went to buy groceries for her parents. She saw Shayne when she exited the mall going to the parking lot. She had been using her father's car since she was on vacation. They chatted for a while and she found out she was waiting for someone. She waved her goodbye and started the vehicle. Only to realize that her brakes was no longer working. She panicked and prayed but still, nothing happened. She was gaining speed on the high way with no way to stop the vehicle unless if she would deliberately crash it on the railing. But there was not guarrantee that crashing it on the railing would help. It might even go beyond the railing and into the cliff. That would be the end of her boring existence.
Just when she felt hopeless, Lee called and apologized.
So far, I have drafted the scene for this part. I am just having difficulty on the part where they would trek to the falls. Oh well. I hope I could figure something out soon.
Oh and by the way, here is a sneak peek of the first book. I hope you guys like it.
Ciao!
